If I Were A Congressman

posted by pfunk on 2006-08-29 01:47:15 I keep giving these "If I were President" rants, but presidents don't really change laws (right? oh. //sigh//) If I Were A Congressman, Social Left Version I would go first-amendment on this government's ass. - FCC would lose all censorship ability - All drugs would be legalized and no additional taxes levied. - New Amendment put to vote to explicitly protect Gay Rights - Any laws recognizing marriage would be outlawed. No one would need a license from the government to get married, and married couples would get no special benefit/penalty from any government body - All federal funding to abstinence programs ends immediately. All public school students attend sex ed which covers safe sex and contraception. - Prostitution legalized and OSHA sets some basic workplace safety standards for employers - Gamer's Rights law passed that says selling a video game can never be illegal. Guidelines are set to help eliminate lawsuits by litigious bastards like Jack Thompson. I would take the second week off to answer hate mail. FunkyBlog Beta

posted by pfunk on 2006-08-27 00:14:32 FunkyBlog (the software powering my blog) has reached beta. Most of the features are implemented and the blog has shown to be relatively stable. I set up a quick and dirty project page here: [http://digitalartisan.org/projects/funkyblog FunkyBlog Project Page] I've included some core project documents and the scrubbed source code. You'll see a few TODO comments in the source; those, among a few other things, should be cleared up before 1.0. Two other core modules I'm considering: an Archive module and a Search module The Archive page would offer some way to easily navigate through past main/root posts. The Search page would handle advanced search features. I really should put those two, along with Recent Replies and Userlist, in a "Typical" category of optional pages. permalink and replies (4)
